On the Road—Again

How unbelievable it seemed that we would pack up the car and really GO again, but suddenly there I was in the driveway early in the morning, attempting to Tetris the car and absorb the last drops of coffee before I set out.

All this week, I’ve been steeped in that feeling of things being both foreign and familiar.

Resident Daughter Beatrice, became (again) non-resident, moving into new digs—but in the same Toronto neighbourhood where she lived until March 2020.

The last place was furnished, so this place required different acquisitions…but some old favourites couldn’t be left behind.

Then I packed the car again—this time for my trip to Newfoundland.

Munro (Nobel-prize-worthy travel companion) seems to remember the drill. She hates the car, but is rather fond of settling into hotel rooms.

And now, after our first night away from home, she’s sticking close by, eager not to be left behind when we set out again.

One more coffee, and we will.
